Guy pelea contra el Maestro Chen el cual solo pelea con Taijutsu lo que lo hace muy poderoso, Lee va en su ayuda y al ver a Chen este recuerda como años atrás le pidió que le enseñara el Konoha Ryuujin una técnica muy poderosa, pero este se niega y le dice que renuncie a ser shinobi, Lee sigue persistente por varios días hasta que es golpeado con esta técnica y cae inconsciente. De vuelta en la guerra el maestro Chen nuevamente utiliza el Konoha Ryuujin pero Lee sabe que los ojos del dragón es el mismo remolino por lo que utiliza el Loto Primario acabando con la técnica de Chen que queda impresionado y felicita a Lee por no rendirse.
